David Heymann


Born and raised in Germany, Heymann relocated to the Netherlands to study composition for films and games at the University of Arts Utrecht. Having received a Bachelor of music with honors and a Master of Arts degree, Heymann moved to the United States to continue his study of film music at the renowned University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). 
In Hollywood, he has recorded his music with some of the finest musicians in Hollywood.

His credits include original scores for award-winning short movies, trailers and games. Heymann has done orchestrations for AAA games like "The Elder Scrolls: Online"  and worked in the music department of Hollywood movies such as the latest "Smurfs" film. His orchestrations and arrangements can be heard on various trailers such as HBO's "Ballers" or in the TV promo of "Terminator Genesys".
Furthermore, he regularly provides additional music to Chinese documentaries and feature movies.

Heymann's music for the horror short "Ghosted" is available worldwide on iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music.  


Heymann has been awarded with two Global Music Awards and the prestigous BMI Jerry Goldsmith Scholarship.
For his rescoring of the Oscar awarded animation "The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore", Heymann was nominated at the international "Transatlantyk Film Music Competition" in 2016. 
Currently, he is nominated for a 'Hollywood Music in Media Award'.
